Maria Devereaux was recruited in September. Her role is to engage with the community and help them shape and use the site for positive benefit. Maria is a trained social and
therapeutic horticulturalist and project officer with the charity Sustain’s Growing Health, which is looking at the health and wellbeing, benefits of community food growing and
how projects can work with the health service. Maria is also a volunteer and trustee of Sydenham Garden, a local project which uses gardening and creative activities to help people with mental health
problems recover. She lives locally in East Dulwich and has wide experience in community engagement, communications and launching projects. She is using her skills to promote this outdoor space to help
community inclusiveness, connect people with nature and promote health and wellbeing
