Knitting in Nature – Catford Arts Trail
Saturday 29th Sept and 6th October 10.30-4.30
Following its great success over the past few years we are pleased to be taking part again in the Catford Arts Trail again. We will be knitting using recycled materials, making pompoms and yarn bombing the new outdoor kitchen. We will also be using the wonderful knitted vegetables and fruit created by various knitters across the borough.
As part of the yarn bombing display we will be creating ‘ whats in my trolley?’ a display of knitted fruit and veg in a shopping trolley in a tree. We will also be knitting using at using other materials including shredded clothes and plastic bags. Finally we will be doing some giant knitting and trying to knit a den!
It is amazing what can be made with an old jumper or a plastic bag. Bring whatever you fancy and see if we can do something with it! We will also be knitting vegetables and other nature based things plus come and learn giant arm knitting.
During the year some fantastic people have been already making things for us to use, particularly our knit and knitter group at Place Ladywell. Thank you.
Don’t worry if you can’t knit we can teach you and you can also make giant pompoms.
Great fun for everyone. No experience necessary and all ages can take part. Drop in anytime but last entry 4pm. Book via the Whats On page so we know how many people to expect.
