Urban Harvest Festival 22nd Sept 11am-4pm

Join us for our annual celebration at the Wild Cat Wilderness including games and activities for all the family.
A big vegetable soup will be available to buy for lunch from 12.30 £2 min donation

11am onwards – Apple picking and apple pressing

11am onwards – Apple bobbing

11am onwards – Guess the weight of the pumpkin

11am onwards – Tin can skittles

12 – Learn about our honey bees and visit the hive

1pm – Make a hop wreath

2pm – Make your own chutney in the new outdoor kitchen

All day – Buy our homemade chutneys, jams and produce including herbs, fruit and veg.

Whilst we arent going ahead with our fruit cooking workshop we are picking blackberries and plums from 12-2pm (in the rain!). Bring a container, take some home and pick some for us to make preserves.

Have your say and win a free personalised activity at the Wilderness

If you have volunteered or attended an event or activity at the The Wild Cat Wilderness we want to find out a bit more about what you think about your community project and a bit more about you. This will help us plan for the future and feedback to our funders. As part of this evaluation, we are asking you to complete an online questionnaire. Your answers will help us understand the benefits people experience from coming to the Wild Cat Wilderness so we can help more people to take part in future.

Taking part is voluntary and you do not have to answer the questions if you do not want to. We also ask about your mental and physical health so we can find out a bit more about the health of our community and see if coming to the Wilderness can help make a difference. If you can’t answer a question just leave it and go onto the next question but any quotes you can give us would be great and we won’t use your personal details.

If you would like to take part in the draw to win a free personalised 2 hour activity for you, your family and friends (x10 max) at the Wilderness then fill in your email address at the end. You could maybe have a wild birthday party, BBQ, your own workshop or bushcraft session. Closing date for the draw is the 11th August. Best of luck.

Build a campfire and make campfire pizzas this Thursday

Please note the time is 11.30-1.30 and is slightly different from the original event on the website as there was an error. Last entry is 12 so please arrive on time.
Build a campfire and make campfire pizzas – fully booked
Learn how to make a camp fire safely and make your own pizza on the griddle. Suitable for aged 4+. Free but we ask you make a donation towards the food. Last admission 12. Please do not just turn up as this event is fully booked.

Call out to knitters – knit a global casserole

We are taking part again this year in the wonderful Catford Arts Trail on the 29th Sept and 6th Oct. We are looking for individuals or groups to knit some fruit or veg for us. Needles, wool and simple step by step instructions provided so anyone can take part. Learn how to knit a carrot, pea or maybe a beetroot or leek – we have a wide choice of veg!

Open Garden Squares Weekend 9 -10 June

London is jewelled with secret gardens – the private, hidden and little-known green spaces that weave through our urban landscape.

For one very special weekend this June, step outside the guidebooks and discover the gardens that make London green. Relax in the natural spaces tucked away on rooftops, in allotments and behind schools, shops, institutions and cafes, or unlock the private gardens of historic buildings and institutions. Spot some of the rarest plants and wildlife just beyond your doorstep, or experience the best of London’s culture with a programme of activities for all the family.

This year our wonderful community space is taking part.
Saturday 11:00–16:00
Sunday 11:00–15:00

Activities
Come and explore our wild space. We will be running some free bushcraft activities.

Saturday activities
12pm – Whittling, make a tent peg, woodland elf or fire stick
2pm – Make a bushcraft guitar or a percussion instrument using natural materials

Sunday activities
12pm – All about nettles
2pm – Make a whistle or bracelet

Tea and coffee will be available for sale. Bring your own picnic and relax in this wonderful community space.
