Conker championships
Find some conkers from the horse chestnut tree preferably large, round and shiny. Carefully make a hole in the middle of them (ask an adult) with a palm drill, hand drill or skewer. Thread some string through the hole and tie a knot at one end so it doesn’t come off. The string should be long enough to wrap around your hand a couple of time with 20cm left hanging. It’s easier to do a longer piece of string and then make it shorter if necessary. Chose your best one and come along to take part in the Catford Conker Championships there will be junior and adult competitions. Certificates for the winners
We prefer people just to use the conkers off the tree without hardening them with varnish etc. but who would know?
If you are planning to come along let us know in advance if possible so we can plan refreshments, etc.
Bookings are closed for this event.
