Catford Arts Trail – eco-printing workshop and leaf printing

We will be running a series of free outdoor community workshops for all ages using natural materials. Drop in anytime. Last entry 3.30pm.

Liz is running an autumn natural printing session using plants and flowers from the wilderness so you can make your own ecoprint. More info below.

Eco-Printing with leaves on Cotton Workshop
Come and learn how to use  the Wild Cat’s autumn leaves to create a print onto fabric (without using ink or painting). No drawing or painting skills needed!

11am Eco-Printing Talk and Demonstration  (30 mins) –
Followed by Make your own Eco-Print cotton sample (space for up to 15 people to try first come first served) up to 1pm (laying leaves dipped in iron water on cotton, and bundling up tightly with string).

If possible bring your own rubber gloves, apron, ziploc bag and notebook, and wear old clothes. This can get messy!
All children will need parental supervision to join the workshop.
Catford Art trail visitors are welcome to drop in throughout the day to view the Eco-printing exhibition,  watch the ecoprinting workshops, and visit the our dye garden.

Liz will then steam all the bundles for up to two hours.
3pm Watch the magic of steamed Eco-print bundles  being opened live from 3pm.

2pm Drop in Contact Leaf Printing on calico
Make your own leaf print by hammering leaves with a mallet onto calico.
Very satisfying but mind your fingers!

Feel free to bring your lunch to have at the Wild Cat Wilderness, walk  around our dye garden and woodland and enjoy an Eco-Print exhibition of Eco prints experiments collectively made by Wild Cat Wilderness Volunteers.

If you are planning to come along let us know in advance if possible so we can plan refreshments, etc.

Bookings are closed for this event.
