Learn how to prune fruit trees, use an axe, bow saw or weed slasher or create a mini pond out of an old biscuit/sweet tin – so bring your Christmas tins along (metal or plastic).

A morning of volunteering 11- 1.30pm followed by a free vegetarian camp fire stew at 1.30pm (£4 for non volunteers).

Come and join in the first volunteer session  of 2017. All ages welcome and there is something everyone can get involved in. Come on your own or bring the family along to help get the Wild Cat Wilderness ready for the new year ahead.

The Lewisham Good Gym will be joining us from 11-12am.

Fun and fresh air in Catford. Don’t worry if its cold. Wrap up warm, we will keep you moving and the fire will be on.

Volunteer morning – Thursday 15th Dec 10.30am -1pm

Come and join the last volunteer session of a wonderful 2016. We will be planting some saplings and doing some pruning. No experience necessary. Wrap and warm and join us by the camp fire. Refreshment provided but bring some lunch.

Autumn volunteering

Its a lovely time of year to be outside and theres lots to do at the Wilderness including – tree planting, path clearing, weeding, seed sowing, pruning, tea making …

You don’t need any experience and we can get you involved in something to suit your ability. Its a good opportunity to have some fresh air and meet some neighbours whilst helping to maintain our wonderful community green space.

Catford Arts Trail 1st and 2nd Oct

A weekend of wild art each day from 11-3pm. All welcome.

 

Includes an exhibition of outdoor art by local schools

You can do some wild weaving or help build a scrap metal sculpture.

Harvest Festival  – a celebration of local food

Including apple picking, how to make chutneys , bread making on the camp fire, plus buy our jams, chutneys and local honey.

Followed by a community BBQ (pay what you can afford)

2-4pm Learn about nature – bees, bugs, birds and butterflies including mini beast hunt. All welcome

NOW POSTPONED NEW DATE TBC  6.30 -8.30pm Make your own natural beauty products (adult workshop). Make a natural scrub, bath fizz and lip balm. £10 contribution to costs. Places limited. Booking essential by Weds afternoon at the latest.

27th Aug

As we had no bookings now postponed.
11am- 12.30 Introduction to mindfulness (adult workshop), £10 contribution to costs. Booking essential by Thursday afternoon at the latest.

1-4pm Volunteer day – finish loading up the skip plus pick blackberries and plums from around the wilderness so we can make jams and chutneys plus take some home. Bring your own containers.
