Soil Heroes training

This training day is part of ‘Digging the Dirt’ – the world beneath your feet A Wild Cat Wilderness Community Project running from March – June 2026. It is a fun, educational project across Lewisham about the importance of soil using art, pottery, the written word, gardening and more.

This training day is only available to people in Lewisham who are representatives of a group or organisation – whether a community garden, green space, friends of group, nature conservation organisation or local charity, It is not available to individuals sorry.

In this training day you will learn all about:

  • What is soil and why it is important including a film by Jo Pearl
  • How to create a healthy soil
  • Digging the Dirt – hands on taster workshops inc
    ‘Soiled’ – calico experiment, how to make seed bombs, create seed pods using natural clay, seed sowing
  • The Soil Festival and Summer Solstice Exhibition
  • How to get the your organisation and community involved
  • Forthcoming workshops, talks and support

The training will take place on 8th March from 11-3 at the Orchard Gardens. Drinks will be provided but please bring a packed lunch.
