Pumpkin carving and lantern making. Saturday 28th October 12-4pm

Turn old tin cans and jars into beautiful lanterns. You can bring your own pumpkin or we can supply one for a donation. You must book your pumpkin prior to the event by emailing wcw@rgtb.org.uk

We will also have a limited number of pumpkin chutneys and jams available for sale plus some Christmas mincemeat using our apples. Many thanks to @TheBigGayAl for making these for us.

Saturday 14th October Nature conservation for all ages

As a community project we really on you as volunteers to help shape what we do at the Wild Cat Wilderness. There is something for everyone to do whether its creating a new path, making something for the wildlife, gardening, clearing rubbish, making tea.. You don’t need any experience and we welcome everyone of all ages, some come as a family, on your own or with a friend. You will always be welcome and you might learn something new but you will certainly make a big difference to our wonderful community green space.

This Saturday we will be finishing another bug hotel – all ages welcome.

Come down for as long as you like. We look forward to welcoming you. Last entry 12.30pm.

Catford Arts Trail – community art at the Wilderness

We are pleased to be part of the wonderful Catford Arts Trail again this year and are hosting three days of Wild art for all ages.

On Saturday 30th 11am-5pm, in celebration of recycling week 2017, you can help finish our recycled rubbish sculpture situated along the new path by hanging your own creations. You can also make a tin can or jar lantern ready for our lantern parade that evening 4-7pm.

Our wonderful really wild jams and chutneys made from our fruit will also be on sale from 1pm-5pm (they make ideal Christmas presents).

We will also be having a community (pay what you can afford) bbq with sausages and veggie kebabs at 5.30/6pm. Just make a donation. All ages welcome. If you are planning on coming to the evening event please book a place so we know how many to cater for. Bring you own drinks.

If you would like to help our wonderful creative team on the day then sign up as a volunteer and email us wcw@rgtb.org.uk – as a charity we rely on our volunteers!

The Wilderness Urban Harvest- Sat 16th Sept 2.30-7pm

A fun afternoon celebrating our fruit harvest and welcoming our hives back to the Wilderness.

All ages welcome.

Apple pressing and apple bobbing.
Buy Wild Cat Wilderness jams and chutneys using our fruit and made by local volunteers plus other fresh produce and herbs.
Make chutney on the campfire together.
Visit our bee hives in their new home.
Adopt a bee.
Vegetable campfire stew at 6pm – pay what you can afford.

Drop in anytime – last entry 5.30pm. Please book your places via the Whats on page so we know how many people are coming.

Bring some lunch.

We have cancelled our afternoon fruit picking as we have harvested all our blackberries, plums and pears and the apples arent quite ready yet!

Events – Thursday 10th August

Learn all about honeybees and other bees at the wilderness. Unfortunately due to the recent vandalism our hives won’t be back at the Wilderness until September so we can’t do the hive visit. There are two sessions beginning at 11am and 12am so please arrive promptly. All ages welcome. Bring some lunch for afterwards. Stay for the open afternoon of wild play 2-4pm.
