Winter wild – garden arts and crafts every Friday
We know that at this time of year the weather can often mean we can’t run outdoor volunteer sessions at the Wild Cat Wilderness, plus not everyone can get out when its cold and wet.
So you can get involved in our indoor volunteer sessions. Held at Place Ladywell, the offices of the Rushey Green Time Bank (at the back, next door to the Good Hope cafe), we will be making things for the Wild Cat Wilderness – plus you will might learn something new and also be able to take something home.
Running from 11.15-2.30pm drop in anytime (no later than 1.30pm) these sessions are open to all ages but places are limited – be sure to book in advance (but do let us know if you can’t then come)
Every week will be something different, all materials provided and no experience necessary.
This week we will be exploring how to make amazing inks and paints from the natural things we have around us such as berries, grass, chalk and mud. We can use our paints to make pictures inspired by Aboriginal and Fijian artists who have used mud and other natural materials in their art for thousands of years! I will also talk about what plants are good for dying cloth and where to find them.
If you are planning to come along let us know in advance if possible so we can plan refreshments, etc.
Bookings are closed for this event.
